Something sweet!

It's my Mum's birthday today - 89 years young - and I thought as she likes something sweet, I should celebrate in a small way with some sweet cards!  Don't you just love those Viva Decor Pearl Pens!  I remember those small sugary pearls that you can use on cakes.  Yum!

Cupcakes, my idea of heaven in paper wrappings..

Lollipops are all the rage in this one and a butterfly to make the calories fly away!

What can I say, more cupcakes both punched and using stickers.  Sweet goodness, absolutely!

Using Peg stamps and a dress template I made this sweet flower dress which is being carried away by the butterflies.  An organza rose finishes off the card.

A myriad of Peg Stamp flowers and grasses plus bugs of all sorts finishes off this busy summer garden card.Posted by Picasa

Vintage Cards

I have a lovely stamp that I used for this card.  With the EK Success punch on the edges, a bit of old lace under and a flower that I made from various 90gms paper and spritzed, I think this card qualifies for Vintage..

After colouring the tag with three Distress inks stamped on a mat with a little spritzed water, I then stamped the tag with a background image.  I used some lovely Green Tara ribbon down the side and then added the tag to which a Jolee's Boutique Dimensional heart was attached. The flower has been slightly coloured to age a little as has the message, which is from Kaisercraft.  The pearl strips (Kaisercraft) finished the card off.

Having fun with Vintage Cards!

Elegant Lady - added a small quilled flower for a bit more dimension..

Love making the flowers.  Has shimmer on the flower but you can't quite see it in the picture.

More hand made flowers.. the small piece under the pearl brad was done with my embroidery machine on a sheer fabric.  Matched in well I thought.

This is using the gesso technique with a crumpled and smooched bit of doily under the small black rose.  The Martha Stewart deco corner punch matched the era very well.

Bit of feather and home made flower sets this lady off well.

Again the gesso technique with a lovely stamp that I coloured with my markers.  Bit of lace and a flower just finishes the card off nicely.

Have had the picture stamps for so long.  Just love the effect,  Added ribbon, stickers, homemade flower and two strip of pearls.  Looks classy!

A new Kaszazz stamp that is simply lovely.  Used black card as the base, added some glitter card that I had lying around as a mat and then coloured parts of the stamp and smooched the edges with Distress Inks.  Made a flower to match with more of the glitter paper and a distressed calico bow to finish the card off. Sweet..

First Tennis Lessons!

Trying to teach an 8 year old how to play tennis is a lesson in patience. I must admit the service action leads me to think there may be some money in this.. Nice style when Rattana connects with the ball! Cedar Lake Country Resort in the Gold Coast hinterland is a lovely relaxing place to spend a week!

Have been so busy over the school holidays with relatives visiting from North and South and then Rattana commenced a new school this term.  She loves it and is very proud of her new school uniform.  Next big step is for her to catch the school bus from home, which is a two bus trip including a change at the Interchange in town. May not let her for a few weeks yet as there are so many kids changing buses there that I think it would be easy for an 8 yo to get a bit intimidated.
I am just trying to finish off a few cards I have had mostly completed on the work table.  Did these this afternoon after collecting Rattana from school...

Using a white crayon resist method plus distress inks and yet another butterfly!
Lovely piece of paper and with the addition of some further colour and butterflies, it looks great.
I am sure you all know this little owl embossing folder.  Never do orange, but thought this combination looked so cute.  The tag was a mixture of a carl corner punch, pearls, distress inks and Stampin Up words.
Love making hand made flowers with my scalloped circle punches.  Add a little glitz and it puts the WOW on
the card.  Of course the Martha Stewart monarch butterfly (big and small for dimension) looks great and some lovely pink roses for good measure.
Again the crayon resist method.  So easy to get a good looking card very quickly.  The ribbon tied it all together!
Well, it's not Christmas but this little Christmas bear was having all sorts of trouble with the Christmas lights.  A little curse was added with the words and then I thought I would use some of those many many quilled flowers that I make when watching TV at night!  Have to keep the hands busy!
Crayon resist again with butterflies. Very pretty.

Have some lovely vintgae stamps in the drawer. A bit of colouring, some layering and ribbon and you have a great card that you can use for anything! Might send it to a girlfriend who loves to spend, spend, spend!

Some simple layering for a lovely vintage stamp I have in the drawer. Add a Friskars edge punch to the side, some pearls, lace (from my daughter's wedding veil), lace flowers and there you have it.

Another Whimsy Stamp that is simply too cute for words. I have coloured her using twinkling H2O's. She is Kitty Katastrophe and I have fooled around with a scroll edging on the mat, pearl strips, a bit of lace and some matching paper.
